Travel and paired RTP
Wiki home · Added in development version 0.4.0
/rtp opens a native Minecraft dialog. Choose Overworld, Nether, or End, then travel solo or find a partner. Only enabled, loaded dimensions appear. No resource pack or client mod is required.
| Command | Result |
|---|---|
/rtp overworld, /rtp nether, /rtp end |
Find a safe solo destination |
/rtp queue [dimension] |
Join a paired queue; defaults to Overworld |
/rtpqueue [dimension], /rtpq [dimension] |
Queue aliases |
/rtp status |
Check waiting/search/countdown state |
/rtp leave, /rtpqueue leave |
Cancel a queue, search or countdown |
Players match in arrival order within the same dimension. A player can have only one request. Both land eight blocks apart, with at most six blocks of elevation difference. This is wilderness matchmaking: PvP may be enabled at the destination. It does not create a protected duel or an arena.
You can move while waiting for a partner or while terrain is being searched. Once the countdown starts, either player moving cancels the pair. Damage, death, disconnect, combat, a duel, or an external teleport also cancels affected requests. A home/spawn/accepted TPA request replaces queued RTP. Cancellation does not charge an RTP cooldown. Completed teleports do.
Searches use asynchronously loaded chunks, keep the selected chunks loaded during the countdown and check the ground again before teleporting. The Overworld and End require solid terrain with two air blocks above it. Nether searches stay below the roof. Hazardous floors, the spawn's immediate surroundings and positions outside the world border are rejected. Search time and concurrency are bounded. No safe terrain means cancellation, not a fallback into lava or the void.

An empty world name selects the first loaded world of that environment. An explicit name must exist and have the matching environment. Existing installations can add these sections or use their defaults. /donsup reload applies configuration; stop/start for JAR changes. donsup.rtp.queue defaults to all players and can be revoked by a permissions plugin.
Queues are temporary and are cleared on shutdown. They do not carry money or items. Players rejoin after a restart. Teleports respect Bukkit cancellation events. If an external plugin cancels one half of a pair, the plugin attempts to return the already moved player; another plugin can also block that return, in which case the player and server log receive a warning. Custom protection-plugin compatibility and cross-server queues are not qualified.
