Make it your server
Wiki home · Donsup 0.5.1-SNAPSHOT
Change the name in one command
Run /smp brand Aurora SMP as an operator or with donsup.admin. The name is saved to config.yml and used by the default dashboard, inventory headings, chat prefix, tab header and sidebar. Reopen menus to see the new title; the tab and sidebar refresh within five seconds. Restart once to update the registered pause-screen heading.
You can also edit branding.server-name in plugins/DonsupAllInOne/config.yml and run /donsup reload.
branding:
server-name: 'Aurora SMP'
display-name: '&6&l%server%'
menu-title-prefix: '%server% | '
messages:
prefix: '&6&l%server% &8>> &f'
Edit these keys in their existing sections; do not create duplicate YAML sections. %server% inserts the chosen server name. Custom headings that deliberately contain a fixed name keep that name. The previous bundled Donsup menu/title defaults and generic SMP chat prefix follow the new name automatically. Internal plugin IDs, permission nodes, command aliases, saved item tags and the data folder remain stable.
Arrange the dashboard
menus.yml controls the main dashboard on both Paper/Folia and Spigot. It includes 26 editable button definitions. Change dashboard.order to arrange or remove entries. Native menus follow that order; inventory menus use each button's zero-based slot.
dashboard:
columns: 2
inventory-rows: 6
close-slot: 49
order: [auction, settings]
buttons:
auction:
label: 'Player Exchange'
icon: DIAMOND
slot: 11
command: 'ah'
permission: ''
enabled: true
lore: ['Browse player listings.']
settings:
label: 'Your Preferences'
icon: COMPARATOR
slot: 15
command: 'settings'
permission: ''
enabled: true
lore: []
This is an example to merge into the generated file. Missing bundled definitions retain their defaults. To add a new button, supply its definition and add its ID to order. Icons and lore appear in inventory menus; native dialog buttons are text controls. columns affects the native dashboard; inventory-rows, slot and close-slot affect Spigot's dashboard. dashboard.summary controls the native balance line with %money% and %shards%.
Buttons execute commands as the clicking player, never as console. %player% in a command inserts that player's name. permission controls visibility and is checked again when clicked. enabled: false hides a button. Hiding a button does not disable its underlying command or the gameplay feature.
Duplicate occupied slots, unknown icons, invalid commands, wrong value types and out-of-range layouts reject the reload with a useful field name. The last accepted menu/message configuration remains active. Invalid files are kept for you to correct.
Rename the pause menu, menus and feedback
| File / section | What it controls |
|---|---|
menus.yml: pause |
Pause/Quick Actions heading, external entry label, route labels, route order and button width. Paper/Folia only; restart required. Remove a route from order to hide it. |
menus.yml: inventory-titles |
Fixed inventory headings for shops, shards, crates, vaults, kits, drills, duels, teams, staff and other included menus. Edit values, keep keys. |
menus.yml: text |
Fixed dashboard-adjacent native/inventory labels such as Back, Confirm, Search and form labels. |
messages.yml: messages |
Fixed feedback messages, including permission failures and many command/help responses. An empty string suppresses a listed message. |
dialogs.yml |
Native dashboard title, Settings title, category labels/descriptions, setting labels and button width. |
config.yml: branding |
Name, display heading, inventory prefix, tab header/footer and sidebar title/lines. |
Use MiniMessage tags in native dialog text and legacy & colour codes in chat/inventory branding. Spigot strips MiniMessage tags from the shared native label text. Native input labels and item-confirmation descriptions are plain text. Changing menu names does not change their action or storage identity; an open vault still saves after a rename.
This is extensive presentation customization, not a complete translation engine. Dynamic transaction sentences, some legacy item lore and internal command syntax still have built-in wording. Do not translate saved item keys or permission nodes.
Tune the gameplay
Existing configuration also controls shop categories/items and prices (shops.yml), starting balances and fees, rank bonuses, shard prices, Sell Axe offers, crate weights/rewards and key-all schedules, spawner production/storage, drill tiers, daily rewards, combat and travel rules. See configuration, markets, keys, spawners and tools and travel.
/creator provides guided editing for several gameplay systems and preset backups. Menu layout/text editing uses the YAML files above. A preset normally preserves branding; setup.preserve-branding controls that choice. Presets do not overwrite menus.yml or messages.yml.
Apply changes
- Back up the files before editing.
- Edit the generated files in
plugins/DonsupAllInOne/. - Run
/donsup reloadand resolve any reported configuration error. - Reopen menus. Restart for pause registry changes, JAR updates or startup-only tasks.
Do not use Bukkit /reload or a hot-loading plugin. Player balances, vault contents and other data files are not configuration; stop the server before editing those.
